Welcome to this fifth episode of People of 2MoRO, where our employees talk about their job and missions. Today, Sarah, a design and development engineer, will talk about her path and job at 2MoRO.
Hi Sarah, can you introduce yourself in a few words?
Hi, I am Sarah, and I‘ve been working at 2MoRO since 2018 as a design and development engineer. I graduated from the EISTI (International School of Information Science and Processing) in Pau, France. I worked for 5 years at Capgemini, starting with C"# ASP.NET development missions for Total E&P, then as a Project Management Support directly at Total for Java developments and technical support.
What is your role at 2MoRO and what are your missions?
Since I started to work at 2MoRO, I played multiple roles. I participated in the development and enriching of import/export interfaces of our software Aero-Webb®. I have also worked on topics related to product performance optimization. Then, I have been technical manager during the development of the POC (Proof Of Concept), still on Aero-Webb®. I have also been trained about ASD formats (still in this continuity of interfacing with different customers) and I am now Scrum Master on an implementation project of Aero-Webb for fighter aircraft, responsible for a team composed of3 developers and 2 testers. As a Scrum Master, I also participate in design meetings with various stakeholders, allowing me to develop technical specifications for my team. I help my teammates in the technical and functional aspects of their developments, and I am also in charge of code review.
What do you like / dislike about your job?
The diversity of the actions I can carry out. I am never bored and I learn from day to day. My work is very exciting and challenging, but sometimes it's hard not to get overwhelmed by the number of things to do.
What do you think are the qualities required in what you do?
To me, the qualities required are the following:
Professionalism
Organisation
Listening
Rigor
Curiosity
At your scale, what have been the impacts of the sanitary crisis on your work and that of your team?
At the beginning of the crisis, I have been impacted a lot because I had to juggle between work and my newest role asMum. However, my managers have been very comprehensive with me, which allowed me to pass the crisis without too much stress. The number of meetings has been multiplied, leaving little room for technical development. It was therefore sometimes necessary to be rude, in order not to accept too many meetings and to be able to make progress on other subjects. Also, thanks to software like Skype, Teams, and Discord, I have maintained the link with my teams and been able to help them when needed.
If you had to recommend 2MoRO to a potential candidate, what would you tell him/her?
What I like at 2MoRO, is the human side of the company. Working in a company of this size is very appreciable, both in terms of the proximity of the teams and the working atmosphere. Moreover, for the mothers or future ones, resources are put in place to adapt to the work environment, in order to evolve in the best possible conditions. It is also possible to have a guaranteed place in a nursery close to work, allowing you to drop off and pick up your children quite easily. These are the kinds of things that make my daily life as a young mother easier.
Thanks, Sarah for your answers and your time. We wish you the best for the future.
