Welcome to this fourth episode of People of 2MoRO. Today, Anne-Laure, one of our project managers is talking about her job and role at 2MoRO.
- Hi Anne-Laure, can you introduce yourself in a few words? (Studies, professional experiences, etc…)
Hi, I am Anne-Laure, I work at 2MoRO since 2018 as a project manager. I graduated with a computer bachelor's and a MIAGE Master's (control of the data-processing methods applied to management). It has been a professionalizing background, combining computer and management skills. I’ve worked in Bordeaux for 7 years: 4 at Sopra Steria and 3 at Intitek. I started with technical missions in coding to then integrate others as operational referents directly on the customer’s site, and this for various sectors (administration, banking, energy…).
- What is your role at 2MoRO and what is your job about?
As a project manager at 2MoRO, I participate in the project from the very start to explicit technical and financial propositions in collaboration with the team members (developers, architects, functional experts).
When the project is launched, I manage the project until the commissioning of the application version. I also monitor the implementation progress regarding costs and deadlines, participate in the qualification of the last updates of the software, and edit functional documentation.
As an intermediary between all the actors of the project, it is a very rewarding daily challenge. Efficient communication and collaboration with the customer, but also with the project team, are essential to ensure the quality of the final product and everyone’s satisfaction.
- At your level, as a project manager, what impact has the health crisis had on your functioning, that of your team, and of the project more generally?
During the Covid-19 crisis, 2MoRO teams have been asked to work from home. 2MoRO has perfectly managed the situation, with improved monitoring of our network and of the tools made available. That allowed us to continue working efficiently as a team, without latency.
I favored teleconferences and screen sharing to collaborate with my teams, the best way to share information remotely and avoid any misunderstanding.
Beyond that, the projects I work on have been slightly impacted by the crisis. I have noticed a slight decrease only with one of my customers, but the other projects were in progress with the technical team or had already been ordered. Maybe there will be mid or long-term consequences, but for now, there are plenty of opportunities, and project launching keeps going.
- What have been the positive / negative impacts of the containment regarding project management?
Indeed, working remotely for such a long time has its positive sides, but also a few negative.
Being less requested by customers allowed me to use more time to make internal improvements and optimization regarding the project organization. On one of my projects, I also took the opportunity to homogenize the delivery process with the rest of the Aero-Webb® ones. It was a heavy task, but very important for our quality approach.
However, it is indeed more complicated to share technical analysis and manage unwanted events. The technology is working well, but it will never replace the human link that is more adapted to many situations. Being together also allows people to talk more, and it is easier to go in the same direction with a shared vision. And more than that, our job is also part of our social life!
- As a project manager, what are the three qualities needed according to you?
Organisation - Relational - Rigour
- If you had to recommend 2MoRO to a friend, what would you say?
2MoRO is a human-scale company: proximity with the teams but also with the managers is a reality. This is what also allows us to touch a little bit of everything and to gain in responsibilities! There is no such thing as routine, working at 2MoRO is a daily evolution in a cohesive team and a promising sector.
