Are you ready for a new dose of inspiration? Then welcome to the 6th episode of our People of 2MoRO series with Jonathan, our Digital Project Manager dedicated to Aero-Webb software. Dive into his fascinating world and discover his key role at 2MoRO by watching our exclusive interview below!
- Hello Jonathan, can you introduce yourself in a few words? (Studies, professional experiences…)
Hello, I come from an engineering training at INSA Toulouse. Specialized in Electronic and Computer Engineering, I carried out several technical internships in various fields (web development, industrial automation...) and always with a strong multicultural dimension (Singapore, Australia, United States...).
I started my career in the MRO industry at Safran Helicopter Engines. My mission was to simplify industrial plans and boost innovation within a panel of key suppliers.
I completed my academic career with a Specialized Master in Innovation Management at CentraleSupélec (BAC+6), before joining the Air France-KLM group. Based in Kuala Lumpur, my role was to coordinate the design, development, and deployment of digital solutions in Asia. These MRO applications, focused on logistics optimization and predictive maintenance, aimed to improve fleet availability while reducing maintenance costs.
Attached to the software development community as well as to the aeronautical maintenance activity, I seized the opportunity to join 2MoRO just a year ago.
At the same time, I am passionate about travel and sport... on land (rugby, running), as well as at sea (diving, surfing).
- What is your role at 2MoRO, and what do your missions consist of?
I am a Digital Project Manager dedicated to the Aero-Webb® software. My main tasks are to coordinate cross-functional technical work and contribute to the product development roadmap. My activity is equally divided between R&D project management, team management, as well as communication within the framework of strategic projects.
- What do you like / like less about your job?
As mentioned in my previous answer, my daily life is very varied and that makes my job exciting!
The technical scope is also very vast since the developments affect the different software layers and respond to various issues: code quality, processing performance, interface ergonomics, interfacing with third-party systems, application security, disconnected mobility, obsolescence of technological bricks, CI/CD automation, etc.
In a logic of permanent transformation, the door is open to all ideas, in particular when it comes to improving internal processes or integrating new tools.
I particularly appreciate the fact of working together with business specialists, intending to bring together technical and functional needs; all in a particularly dynamic industrial context. Moreover, it is a multicultural component since we work with teams located both in France and abroad.
Working for a software publisher means knowing how to juggle between creating a standard product and taking customer requirements into account. This sometimes involves changing plans, and it's not always easy to orchestrate, but it's also what allows our products to respond to market needs.
- What do you think are the qualities necessary to succeed in your missions?
Listening - Rigor - Team spirit
- At your level, what were the impacts of the health crises on your functioning, on your team, and more generally on the project you supervise?
Given the growth experienced by the company in recent years, many employees have joined the workforce in the context of health crises and I am one of them. This inevitably limits the social exchanges which are nevertheless at the heart of 2MoRO's DNA, but this does not harm the development of newcomers' skills. We benefit from several tools allowing us to collaborate remotely, and the "hybrid" mode of operation (remote/face-to-face) is now anchored in our practices.
Furthermore, the company's commercial activity was not impacted by the crisis, and the production rate even intensified over the period.
- If you had to recommend 2MoRO to a potential candidate, what would you say?
On the operational level, 2MoRO has what it takes to attract a large audience of candidates in the sense that our software covers a complete functional perimeter while regularly integrating technical and technological innovations.
What makes the strength of the company is also the spirit of sharing and mutual aid placed at the heart of our operation. This results in a cohesion that often goes beyond the professional framework. Thus, we have the feeling of belonging to a company on a human scale, yet in full growth and integrated into a leading group in the digital field. This balance is ideal in my eyes, especially in an environment as pleasant as the Basque Country!
